2010 Michigan Long Range August Match Fourteen competitors had a great time in the sun, wind, and sand of Camp Perry. But, with our juniors, their sponsors, and others shooting at Camp Perry, the decision was made to postpone the Michigan Long Range Regional to the September match. Good thing too, as Sunday was a rainout. Still, the no-shows missed a great time weather-wise on two straight days. Bryan Litz, Berger Bullet’s ballistician, shot his usual great match. Renzo Tormen stands in danger of becoming a High Master. And Jim Dietlein is getting terrific at F(tr). Steve Peterson, in his first try at LR, received excellent inaugural training from Bryan; here’s hoping we will see him again. Conviviality was clearly high again this year as competitors wrangled at the end of each day’s shooting over which of Grayling’s many gourmet eating establishments was to be frequented. After sampling what we could Friday, it was decided that Dave Wuethrich’s sausages, served Saturday at the range, were far superior. Big Winners were: Conventional Prone
F(tr) Class
The Michigan Long Range Regional will be combined with the Michigan Long Range State Championship and will be shot at Camp Grayling on September 11 and 12. Again this year, we will be awarding and engraving NRA Regional Metals, not only to our conventional “sling” competitors, but also to our growing F(o) and F(tr) contingents as well. Many thanks to all of the folks who helped to set up and take down the range equipment. Thanks also to Mike Ross for running the firing line, and to Scott Stenman for scoring. Scott Stenman is also about to take over our website, so please be looking for some upcoming improvements. Watch for the change in the bulletin on the MRPA Long Range web site at: MRPA Long Range.
